Website Design Case Studies

Click the arrow on the right to view a sampling of websites that we've created from the ground up.

Pat's Jewelry Center | Sioux Center, IA | patsjewelry.com

Pat's Jewelry Center is an established and successful jewelry center located in Sioux Center, IA. We had provided on-demand IT services on many occasions for Pat's Jewelry; being familiar with our level of service and dedication, it was natural that they requested us when in need of an attractive online presence.

Website Goal: Displaying a sample of available jewelry to increase visitation to the main store.

Client Type: Hands-Off

Website Type: Content Management System

Commentary: Designing patsjewelry.com was a blast as it gave us a chance to utilize our creativity in an elegant and glamorous way. We had full control over the project, from vision to design to navigation. The front-end is driven by a back-end content management system that allows employees to sign on and make changes to the jewelry listed.

Landsmeer Golf Club | Orange City, IA | landsmeergolfclub.com

Landsmeer Golf Club choose us among other bids due to our willingness to work one-on-one with them as well as our fair pricing. Landsmeer was looking to update their site to something fun, progressive and unique. After a successful sign-off on the original design, some stakeholders decided they wanted something different - a week later we delivered the current design with no additional fees.

Website Goal: A progressive communication channel to display info about the course as well as up-to-date maintenance reports, league and tournament times and special offers.

Client Type: Co-Op

Website Type: Content Management System

Commentary: While we loved our original design, we immediately turned out a new design which was well received. We fully integrated a system to automatically email subscribers around their birth date with an invitation to a free round of golf. We had fun with this site and where allowed to be creative within specific restraints (i.e. little-to-no white space allowed).

Team Realty Services, Inc. | Sioux Center, IA | teamrealtysc.com

Team Realty Services, Inc. is a large Realtor for the Sioux Center area, relative to demographic population size. Their original site had a dated look of 1995 and was in need of serious updating. We completely redesigned the front-end and integrated a backed solution to manage listings, as the secretary had been editing raw HTML to change listings previously.

Website Goal: Reduce the amount of time the secretary uses to add new listings. Refresh site with a modern look and added functionality for end users.

Client Type: Hands-Off

Website Type: Content Management System

Commentary: We utilized an open-source content management system for this project to keep costs down. There is an easy-to-use back end system that handles property classes, listings, adding pictures and property details as well as handling end-user subscriptions where they can save searches and opt-in to be alerted when a new property is listed that matches their criteria.

Park Green LLC | Omaha, NE | parkgreen.net

Park Green LLC is a new company, started by parking design veterans, set to revolutionize the way we think about parking and mass transit. In the early stages of implementation, Park Green was looking for a purely information site that was short, succint and simple.

Website Goal: Simple, buzz-generating site; to be completed ASAP.

Client Type: Hands-Off

Website Type: Static

Commentary: Utilizing their temporary logo and provided text, we created the site to utilize the small amount of current information available on the project. Park Green is about sustainability in the scope of parking design, thus we combined the look of lane lines with the concept of renewable resources to create the look of sustainability. This site was finished from concept to live in 48 hours.

  • Custom Website Design

We take pride in providing you and your business with an original work of art. We have never utilized pre-made templates and ,unless requested, never plan to. Each website design is built from the ground up to fit your corporate identity, colors and features.

  • Illustrious Color Schemes

Proper color choice and balance is a commonly neglected factor in website design. The colors utilized speak volumes about your corporate culture; we utilize custom schemes to convey the emotions you'd like your client or customer to experience. If you already have a business color, we can utilize your existing color to create a scheme of colors to properly accentuate your main color.

  • Valid HTML/CSS Code

Writing proper code that validates with W3C specification is an important project decision. Proper code helps your site load faster, gives you better rankings in search engines and allows your site to display properly from mediums as common as the personal computer all the way down to the increasingly popular mobile phone browser.

  • Cross-Browser Compatibility

Though it may be tempting for some companies, we never code for just Internet Explorer. It is considerably more work, but we make certain that your website will display properly in alternative browsers like Mozilla's Firefox, Apple's Safari, Google's Chrome and Opera.

Client Types

Being a small and nimble company,
we have the benefit of being able to cater
to many different client types.

Hands-Off: We do everything, you do next to nothing. We choose or utilize an existing color scheme for your corporate identity. We design the look, content, etc... all with little to no intervention on your behalf.

Co-Op: The middle ground; we work together until you receive exactly what your looking for. Even though we'll be doing the majority/all of the designing and the coding, we value your high-level vision of your online identity. Even if that vision seems to be lacking, we have the skills to help coax it out of you. After meeting, we will deliver a Project Charter and a Scope Document outlining a pre-approved plan between us. From there we set Project Milestones to keep you updated on where the design and functionality is headed; during these milestones you may make any changes necessary to steer the project towards fulfilling the original high-level vision of the website. If there is ever a design change you'd like to make that doesn't sit well in our professional opinion, we will mention possible follies or fallacies of such a decision but will always be respectful of the decision you make - it is your site after all.

My-Way: We do what you say and only what you say. This package is geared towards those with the overall design and storyboard drawn out; we only put the pieces together.
